David Voyles and John Baxter were recognized at the 8:30 a.m. worship on October 23, for their completion of two more courses as Lay Servants. David completed the course “Soul Reset,” and John completed the course “Faith Sharing.”

Pastor Pete then led David and John in the reaffirmation of their vows of service and commitment as Lay Servants.

In the United Methodist Church, Lay Servants are to serve the local church or charge in any way in which their witness or leadership and service inspires the laity to a deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship. This includes the interpretation of scriptures, doctrine, organization, and ministries of the church.
