excitingnews01sqChurch of the Palms is pleased to partner with the Lowcountry Youth Wind Symphony as they launch a three-part program for students to perform in a concert band setting and/or take music lessons.

The kick-off meeting is Thursday evening, January 18, at 7 p.m. in the Christian Life Center.

The mission of the Lowcountry Youth Wind Symphony is to create a community of youth musicians and is dedicated to:

Providing a rich, inspiring, and educational environment for its members
Promoting artistic enrichment for youth musicians and within our communities
Preserving the rich repertoire and cultural history of the wind band

  • Part 1 is a concert band program open to student musicians in grades 7-12 from traditional school and homeschool settings.
  • Part 2 of the program is a music lesson program for students in grades 4-12 interested in either a private, semi-private or small group instruction.
  • Once beginner students have achieved a level of mastery Part 3 of the program - a beginner band - will get underway.

Students interested in joining the LYWS can sign-up to participate in the rehearsals and performances at the session.
