“Demanding Discipleship”

Matthew 10:24-39

We are in the liturgical season of the Church year known as Ordinary Time, or Kingdomtide. You may have noticed the color for this season is green. The assigned scriptures for this season this year are from the Gospel according to Matthew. These passages challenge for us to take the Reign of God seriously.

thethreeamigos01sqCome join the Brothers Too! Saturday morning breakfast and Bible study as they continue their study of Titus, James, and Jude - the three Amigos!

Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, with the study starting at 8 a.m. and finishing at 8:30 a.m. The books will be taken verse by verse. The group will start with James 5:13  on July 8 (no Brothers Too! on July 1 due to family Promise), so jump in whenever your schedule permits. Brothers Too! meets every other Saturday at Church of the Palms.

genesissisters01sqCome join the Sisters!! Wednesday morning Bible study of Genesis. Each Wednesday morning starts with a little breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Church of the Palms, followed by a study led by Pastor Pete from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The study this week on July 5 (no Sisters!! on June 28 due to Family Promise) starts at Genesis 18:26.

The book of Genesis is important as it forms a starting point of God's interaction and concern with God's specially chosen people, Israel. At the same time, Genesis forms a foundation for the broader scope of God's interaction and concern for all humanity and creation.

The book of Genesis presents stories about the beginning of the world and humanity along with stories about the beginning of the particular people of Israel and their ancestors.
