Work continues on preparing the area that will support the pad for the Christian Life Center.
Forms for the footings for the Christian Life Center have been constructed and the first pouring of concrete has occurred.
Work on the Christian Life Center continues. The site work by Cleland is gearing up. The trees have been removed, and the next task is the grubbing and leveling of the site for the actual building and also the expanded parking.
It is anticipated that parking in the back lot will be affected soon, as space is made for additional equipment and supplies. Please continue to be alert and cautious while on the campus.
In related news, the construction loan with BB&T was closed on Wednesday, providing necessary funding for the project. As Church of the Palms continues with its Capital Campaign and contributions (see the following article) the construction loan will be converted to a mortgage when the project nears completion. Note that all contributions big and small make a difference!
Church of the Palms, in Okatie SC, broke ground for a new $2.9M Christian Life Center on Sunday, December 18, at 10 a.m. between the morning worship services.
The new Christian Life Center is expected to take 365 days to complete and the project includes renovation of the current building. The Christian Life Center will include Sunday school rooms, a Music Suite, a Fellowship Hall, a full kitchen and restrooms with showers. Pastor Pete is fond of saying this new building is going to be a “distribution center of grace” – a tool to allow Church of the Palms to connect to God and connect to one another.
