The bell tower will finally be refinished starting Saturday, October 21. This means near the tower on the pavement may be restricted to avoid any damage to YOUR car due to overspray of the oil-based paint being used.
Barriers will clearly indicate when it is ok to park on the pavement and when it is not. Space will be available in the gravel lot, a little further away from the building. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Brothers Too!, men meeting on alternating Saturday mornings. for breakfast and Bible study will continue a study of Ezra on October 21, at Ezra 8:21. Breakfast (biscuits, donuts, juice) starts at 7:30 a.m. with the study starting at 8 a.m. and concluding by 8:30 a.m.
The book of Ezra records two separate time periods directly following the seventy years of Babylonian captivity. Chapters 1-6 of Ezra covers the first return of Jews from captivity. Led by Zerubbabel, following the edict of Cyrus of Persia, this portion ends after twenty-three years with the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. Ezra 7–10 picks up the story more than sixty years later when Ezra led the second group of exiles to Israel.
The siding of the Christian Life Center is nearing completion. Inside, the ceiling grids are being hung which permits installation of the heating and cooling system vents.
The work on the current building continues with the old room divider and beam being removed so that the wider hall wall can be constructed.
The members of the Building Committee are focusing on details related to the installation of flooring, delivery of cabinets, and kitchen equipment.

Sunday, October 22, 8:30 a.m. / 11 a.m.
This Sunday, October 22, we are challenged by the words of Jesus as captured in Matthew 22:15-22. In this dramatic encounter between the Pharisees and Herodians, Jesus is presented with what seems like a no-win question - to whom do we owe our loyalty? Instead of falling into the trap of an assumingly honest inquiry, Jesus responds with an answer that continues to call our own actions and priorities into question.
Jesus simply says give to the source of what you have, the part they are due. The issue under this response is how and whom do we see as the source of all that we have and all that we are. Could it be we are to live as though we have dual citizenship?
Come this Sunday as we dive deeper into this difficult and yet relevant issue that Jesus first presented in his time.
We all need and ask for payer at various times and we know the power of prayer is awesome!
On non-communion Sundays we have the Laying on of Hands for Pastor Pete where you have the wonderful opportunity to go forward and pray silently for Pastor as he prepares to deliver his message.
You do not need to be asked - let the spirit of our Lord guide you - you will be blessed!
Come join the Sisters!! Wednesday morning Bible study of Genesis. Each Wednesday morning starts with a gathering at 8:30 a.m. at Church of the Palms, followed by a study led by Pastor Pete from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The study this week on October 25 starts at Genesis 40:9.
The book of Genesis is important as it forms a starting point of God's interaction and concern with God's specially chosen people, Israel. At the same time, Genesis forms a foundation for the broader scope of God's interaction and concern for all humanity and creation.
The book of Genesis presents stories about the beginning of the world and humanity along with stories about the beginning of the particular people of Israel and their ancestors.
