We are in the liturgical season of the Church year known as Ordinary Time, or Kingdomtide. You may have noticed the color for this season is green. The assigned scriptures for this season this year are from the Gospel according to Matthew. These passages challenge for us to take the Reign of God seriously.
Consider serving the ministry of Family Promise as we provide shelter to homeless families. Family Promise is an interfaith, non-profit organization committed to helping homeless families by providing shelter, meals and support services with programs designed to address the underlying causes of homelessness.
Consider providing food, or supplies, or spending an evening and overnight with these guests. Sign up for a training orientation and ways to help during our Family Promise Week June 25 - July 2.

Come join the Sisters!! Wednesday morning Bible study of Genesis. Each Wednesday morning starts with a little breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Church of the Palms, followed by a study led by Pastor Pete from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The study this week on July 5 (no Sisters!! on June 28 due to Family Promise) starts at Genesis 18:26.
The book of Genesis is important as it forms a starting point of God's interaction and concern with God's specially chosen people, Israel. At the same time, Genesis forms a foundation for the broader scope of God's interaction and concern for all humanity and creation.
The book of Genesis presents stories about the beginning of the world and humanity along with stories about the beginning of the particular people of Israel and their ancestors.
The Brothers! Thursday morning breakfast and Bible study continue their study of Jeremiah on Thursday, July 6 (no Brothers, June 29 due to Family Promise), at Jeremiah 22:13. Breakfast starts at 8 a..m. with the study starting at 8:30 a.m. and concluding by 9 a.m.
The second of the major prophets, the book of Jeremiah is a challenge to conscience and a comfort to the wounded in body and spirit. The book addresses the destruction of Judah and the capital Jerusalem by Babylon’s armies but also strives to move beyond this historical milestone to a new future.
The book of Jeremiah seeks to defend God from charges of being unjust, uncaring, or unable to protect God’s people. Instead the responsibility of the people and their failure to “listen” is brought front and center.
Come join the Brothers! each Thursday morning, with breakfast from 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and a study of Jeremiah from 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Additional details on The Brothers! available online.
Come join the Brothers Too! Saturday morning breakfast and Bible study as they continue their study of Titus, James, and Jude - the three Amigos!
Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, with the study starting at 8 a.m. and finishing at 8:30 a.m. The books will be taken verse by verse. The group will start with James 5:13 on July 8 (no Brothers Too! on July 1 due to family Promise), so jump in whenever your schedule permits. Brothers Too! meets every other Saturday at Church of the Palms.
