If so, be sure to attend The Lowcountry Churches Coalition on Aging presentation by Peggy Hitchcox as she helps us sort through issues involving Medicare, Medicaid as well as advance directives, advanced care planning, assisted living/long term care facilities, home health and other in- home care as well as identifying community resources for dementia, cancer, physical rehabilitation, and reimbursement sources for all of these. 

Advanced Planning-Legal Issues

The Lowcountry Coalition on Aging presents Advanced Planning-Legal Issues by Becki Hale, a local attorney specializing in estate planning, probate, real estate, and business law.  Ms. Hale will provide an overview of the legal issues of primary concern to senior citizens.

aging20140107The Lowcountry Coalition on Aging presented the inaugural event entitled, "Causes and Effects of Aging" on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Palms UMC,

The speaker was be Dr. Philip Cusumano, M.D., specialist in Internal Medicine focused on adults.

Dr. Cusumano addressed the myth of inevitable genetic patterns of illness and fighting the aging process by such strategies as improving sleep patterns, adequate exercise, and reducing calories.
