Welcome to the website of Church of the Palms United Methodist! I am Pete Berntson, and am honored to be the appointed pastor to this great community of faith. I am so glad you are visiting us online. I tell everyone that the church building of Church of the Palms is located at 1425 North Okatie Highway (Highway 170) in Okatie, SC, just 3 miles up highway 170 from Highway 278 – but that the “church” is all around the area. Members and friends of Church of the Palms come from the many nearby islands and inland areas to gather as a faith community.  We are also blessed each week with many guests and friends who are in the area visiting and choosing to worship with us. Church of the Palms is a wonderful and loving community of faith, which makes the love of Jesus known through Spirit-filled worship, acts of compassion and justice, and a desire to deepen our relationships with God, one another, and those we are called to serve. As a community of faith, we are ever thankful that God is always doing a new thing in our midst, and leads new visitors, friends, and members to this church, so that we, together by God’s grace, can transform the world.
